From The Gateway Poetry by Asha Martin

     The Riddle

Fire is my coat of mail
Sharp as a sword is my tail
Blood runs cold when I fly
Like an arrow through the sky

Swift are my claws
Hard are my jaws
To crush the bone.
Men now leave me well alone.

For your sake
Do not hesitate
To solve this riddle
We are long past the middle.

     Have you guessed?
     There’s no time left.
     What am I
     That flies so high,
     Over your head?
     Too late, now you’re dead!

Feel Free to leave a comment of the answer to The Riddle.
I will post in a new post the Epilogue of The Riddle if I get some answers from you all.

Excerpt from The Amazing Prism A children's fantasy by Asha Martin

Sitting on Julie’s bed with their treasure, which Alley suggested they refer to as a prism just until they had figured out what it was, the girls talked as they inspected it. The prism glowed softly and felt warm as they turned it over.

“What do you think it could be?”
“I don’t know but I wish I knew why it was left in the window seat to start with.”
“It must be something special,” Julie turned the prism over again. “What do you think Alley? You are the scientist are you not?”
Alley nodded thinking. “Hmm, it’s too big to be a jewel.” She said thinking some more.
“How can we find out what it is?”
“Well… We could take it to school, to the science lab. Run some tests on it and see what it looks like under the microscope and stuff like that.”
“Good idea Alley. But when? After school on Monday?”
“Nah I can’t I have to help out at the book fair.”
“Oh, well what about Tuesday then?”
“Alright Tuesday, after school. How ’bout four-ish? That way the cleaners’ll be just about done and we can slip passed ’em without too much trouble.”
“What will we tell our mothers and fathers? They are bound to ask us where we are going and what we are doing!”
“Do I have to think of everything? I don’t know make something up like you’re coming over to my place to work on a project or something.”
Julie got up and replaced the prism in the window seat box nodding.

I hope you have enjoyed reading a little of my published works.

  1. How about a Dragon as an answer to your riddle? That's my best guess! :)
